Centro Budista Djampel Pawo

Security and Prevention

Unfortunately, scammers sometimes use the names of well-known institutions. For your safety, here is how Centro Budista Djampel Pawo (CNPJ 05.234.358/0001-00) contacts you and what we never do.

Our official channels

  • WhatsApp (enquiries): +55 11 95078-1580
  • WhatsApp (finance): +55 11 99111-5806
  • Email: atendimento@djampelpawo.org and financeiro@djampelpawo.org. Automated emails from the website come from addresses ending in @djampelpawo.org: sistema@ (emails from the website to you), and newsletter@ and avisos@ (bulk mailings).
  • Website: djampelpawo.org
  • Social media: the centre has no social media profiles; any profile in the centre's name is not official.

What we do

  • Our official emails use only the@djampelpawo.org domain. Check the sender’s full address, letter by letter: scammers register look-alike addresses such as djampelpawo.com or djampe1pawo.org. The name and logo shown in a message do not prove it is genuine.
  • Members of the center may contact you from other WhatsApp numbers or personal email addresses, and may ask for donations for the center’s projects or activities. Before paying any request or donation, confirm it through the official channels above.
  • Payments for requests and donations are made through our website (djampelpawo.org), through the Asaas payment page opened from the website or from our emails, or by PIX to the centre's key, the CNPJ 05.234.358/0001-00.
  • Before confirming a PIX, check the payee. In a PIX to the centre's CNPJ key, it must show the centre's name (CENTRO BUDISTA DJAMPEL PAWO) and its CNPJ. In a PIX generated by the website (QR code or copy-and-paste code), the payment is made to Asaas, our payment partner, and the receipt may show Asaas or its partner institution. If in doubt, pay only from the page opened on our website.

What we never do

  • We never ask for your credit card number, security code or passwords by phone, email or message.
  • We never pressure you into a quick decision. Requests and donations are made calmly, in your own time.

If something looks wrong

Even if the address looks right, confirm any request for payment, change of bank details or sending of sensitive information through our official channel, reached directly from the website or through a phone number you already know. Do not use links or phone numbers from the suspicious message itself to confirm.

In other words: “it came from another domain: be suspicious” is a good rule; “it came from our domain: you can trust it” is not.

Phone scams

  • Be wary of unexpected calls in the centre's name, especially if they ask for payment, data or codes received by SMS.
  • If you are unsure about a call, hang up and contact us through the official channels.
  • Never share verification codes received by SMS or WhatsApp.

If you have already paid a scammer

  • PIX: tell your bank at once and ask it to open a MED (Mecanismo Especial de Devolução, the PIX special refund mechanism), which lets you dispute a PIX made in a scam. The sooner you ask, the better the chance of getting the money back.
  • Card: contact your card issuer to dispute the purchase and block the card.
  • File a police report (boletim de ocorrência); in most states this can be done online. In São Paulo, through the Delegacia Eletrônica.
  • Let us know through the channels below.
