The lineage

Venerable Kalden Rinpoche belongs to a lineage of enlightened masters that goes back to Buddha Shakyamuni, the Supreme Tathagata. In particular, we follow the Ganden whispered lineage (ganden nyengyu gelugpa), founded and transmitted in the fifteenth century by Je Tsongkhapa, who perfectly brought together the whole understanding of the sutras and tantras. The Ganden lineage was definitively propagated by Kyabje Pabongka Dechen Nyingpo and Kyabje Trijang Dorje Chang; their blessings, instructions and supreme teachings have made it possible for every sincere practitioner to reach liberation with their own hands. This living lineage of sacred teachings and practices is perfectly preserved in Brazil through the presence of Venerable Kalden Tulku Rinpoche.

The direct and unbroken succession of masters and disciples is what allows us to reach enlightenment.

Each realised master taught his disciples what he had learned and the methods he needed to reach his realisations, and so guides them, according to each one's capacity, in the inner development of the Buddha qualities of compassion, wisdom and kindness. The disciples apply their masters'instructions so that they, too, may reach enlightened realisations.

The Dharma brings together a vast number of masters and thousands of precious teachings, forming a treasure as extensive as it is profound. At the heart of the teachings stand, in particular, great masters who systematised what Buddha Shakyamuni taught and made it possible to practise, among them Nagarjuna, Atisha and Je Tsongkhapa. Later, it was Kyabje Pabongka Dechen Nyingpo who made it possible to live this lineage of teachings of these great masters to the full. And his heart disciple, Kyabje Trijang Dorje Chang, out of his immense kindness, gathered his master's teachings, made them concrete, tangible and accessible, and spread them to beings of every capacity – allowing the Dharma to spread throughout the world and reach the hearts of all sentient beings.
